Statement from Commissioner Maffei commending the Commission’s vote to hold public hearings on Petition P4-16

As the Commission moves forward with its consideration of Petition P4-16, Petition of the Coalition for Fair Port Practices for Rulemaking, I would like to commend Commission staff for all of their hard work up to this point. I would also like to express my appreciation and full support for Acting Chairman Khouri’s motion to hold public hearings at the Commission on this important issue. The Petition raises many concerns and complex issues, all of which deserve our full consideration before a final decision is reached on how to proceed. I truly believe holding public hearings is a logical next step in our consideration of the Petition and I look forward to participating as we move forward.
