President Obama Re-Nominates Commissioner Khouri as FMC Commissioner

On Tuesday, September 6, 2011, President Obama sent to the Senate the nomination of Commissioner Michael A. Khouri for a new, five-year term as Federal Maritime Commissioner, expiring June 30, 2016.

Chairman Lidinsky said, “I welcome the President’s nomination of Commissioner Khouri for a new full term. He has made impressive contributions to the Commission’s work, including his able service as Fact Finding Officer for the Commission’s investigation into problems experienced by members of the public who ship their household goods or personal property overseas. The Commission is working to implement his thoughtful recommendations for preventing fraud and protecting the shipping public. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Commissioner Khouri on behalf of American exporters, importers, and consumers.”
